The EN 50463 standard continues to evolve, meeting data needs & technology. The latest version EN 50463 dates from 2017. A new revision started in 2024. A first draft prEN 50463 will be in enquiry from November 2025 to January 2026. What changes are in this new draft edition of the standard dealing with the on-board Energy Metering Systems?

During this session, Bart Van der Spiegel—Eress Steering Group Member and representative from Infrabel—will lead us through the latest revision of EN 50463, highlighting the proposed updates that impact on-board energy metering systems. He will be speaking together with Björn Ållebrand and Francesco Sperotto.

This event will inform on how these changes enhance data accuracy, interoperability, and compliance within the European railway sector.
