International Energy Agency will become an energy hub

The International Railway Agency plans to modernise its organization, based on three main pillars.

The first one is to open the doors of the Agency to emerging economies and to renew a number of bilateral work programmes with Brazil, Chile, China, Indonesia, Mexico and South Africa.

The second one is to broadening the IEA's core mandate of energy security, including global oil market and liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the global energy trade.

The third one involves transforming the Agency to become a global hub for clean energy technologies and energy efficiency. Its members support strengthening the role of the IEA's Technology Collaboration Programmes. Currently, the Agency counts with a network of 6,000 energy technology experts worldwide.
