Deutsche Bahn to reduce 50% of CO2 emissions by 2030

DB to reduce 50% of CO2 emissions

Deutsch Bahn is setting a new ambitious climate target.

"By 2030, we will reduce the specific CO2 emissions worldwide by at least 50 percent. This is a major step on the way to becoming a completely climate-neutral group, which we will be in 2050", said DB CEO Richard Lutz in the run-up to the Bonn UN Climate Protection Conference (6th - 17th November 2017) in Berlin.

"Rail travel protects climate. Even today we are the most climate-friendly means of transportation. We are further expanding this lead. It is about nothing more than the future of our new generations. This is why we are increasing our commitment and are actively responding to climate change and its impact. "
